Scosche Headphones

I was looking for a good set of in-ear headphones that had an iPhone/iPod remote. If you cruise the Apple website you will come across plenty that range anywhere from $50.00 to $150.00. I’m all for great headphones, I have a set which I use specifically on the plane and it feels like I’m watching a movie or listening to a song in a theater. They’re amazing, but that’s not what I was looking for. I wanted a set that I could shove in my pocket when I get off the bus and then yank back out in my drunken stupor and drunk dial people without holding the phone up.

I came across Schoche Increased Dynamic Range Earphones with TapLINE Control Technology on Amazon.com. This set is perfect and they’re a steal too. They’re normally $50.00, but only $22.00 on Amazon and worth every dollar. They come with an on board remote which controls the most recent generation of iPods and iPhones. To control the iPod press the center button once for pause/play, twice to advance track, and three times to reverse a track. The remote also has two dedicated buttons for volume; + for up and – for down.

For the iPhone, the remote has a microphone. To answer calls press the center button once and to hang up just push it one more time. The volume controls work the same way as the iPod.

As I mentioned above, these are in-ear headphones. The come with two types of ear gels and three sizes of each type. All gels are soft, black and if your ear doesn’t fit one of these six sets of gels then I don’t know what in-ear headphones will fit you.

Lastly, these fancy headphones come with some bling; six color caps for the ear pieces. Don’t ask me about the colors. I really don’t care for the bling. I just set one ear to red and left the other one to black so I know which earphone goes in which ear with out having to look for the “L” and the “R” on the headset. If you want to make sure your headphones always match your outfit I’m sure you’ll one of these colors will do just fine.

Oh, I almost forgot, they come with a classy leather bag which looks like a retro coin purse. I like it. I use it. Nice accessory, most headphones don’t come with a decent case. These do.

Well if you want/need a new set of headphones for your iPod or iPhone and don’t want to spend a buttload go to Amazon and search for IDR350MD.

From the photo, it looks like they are your standard isolating headphones – how isolating are they?

Not bad. I wouldn’t say fantastic but good enough where I need to leave on out so I can hear what’s going on around me while I’m walking in SF. They work great on BART, barely any background noise. I wouldn’t keep em both in on BART if I didn’t know where I was going because you won’t be able to hear the stops called out. I’ll send you an update when I fly with them in a couple weeks.

I apparently lost my isolating headphones (I’m working in a coffee shop this morning and couldn’t find them). I’ll pick these up on Amazon.

[...] Scosche iPod and iPhone accessories are awesome. I own a set of Scosche headphones and I think they are fantastic. The sound quality is not what you would get out of a set of Shures [...]
